The Essa Mubarak Al Kobaisi Group, whose founder and Chairman is Mr. Essa Mubarak Al Kobaisi initially started business as a construction company in the year 1972. Today, it employs over 1500 personnel and its activities include construction, manufacturing, real estate, general trading, automotives, franchisee, retailing, travel & tourism and media production with an annual turnover of over US $ 500 million.

Sh. Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain, presenting Award of Excellence in Business to Mr. Essa Mubarak Al Kobaisi, Chairman of Al Kobaisi Group. With his thorough experience in the construction field being a site supervisor of Aramco projects in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Essa Mubarak Al Kobaisi decided to return to Bahrain in 1972 and put up his own construction company where he could utilize his knowledge and experience.

With his dedication and effort, small ministry jobs progressed into bigger contracts, and diverting and moving ahead in grasping the private sector.

Mr. Abdulla Essa Al Kobaisi, a graduate in Engineering studies, with over two decades of experience in running and growing the business is the Managing Director and is actively involved in the daily operations of the various companies. The Group operates through different divisions, each supervised by a Manager who is reporting to the General Manager or directly to the Managing Director. The key function of Finance is looked after by various divisional Accountants, who report to the Finance Manager for the Group. Operations and Sales are handled independently by each division, nevertheless a collective effort is made to core in customer benefits and loyalty.

The Group has retained independent Auditing and Accounting firms, and as well as Legal Counsel.

Al Kobaisi family today ascends from the roots which supported the royalties in the Arab world. Well-known among the royal families in Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Oman, Al Kobaisi is a family of repute, well-respected and acknowledged by the royalties.
